Frequently Asked Questions

Please feel free to contact us if you need any information. Answers to some of the most common questions are listed below.

How do I join?

Contact us using the form below or e-mail GrayshottScouts@gmail.com, with your name, child’s name and age, address and telephone number, and the relevant section leader will get back in touch shortly.

Can adults get involved?

Absolutely! We encourage parents to join in with sessions occasionally, and we’re always looking for section leaders and adult helpers. We also have some vacancies on our executive committee which manages the group and supports the leaders. Contact us today to find out more.

What are the times/dates?

Check out each section’s page from the menu for details of when they meet. All sessions are held at the Jubilee Hut on Whitmore Vale Road unless otherwise advised.

How much does it cost?

Sessions run during school term times and subscription fees are £120 per year. To spread the cost, this is payable by direct debits of £10 per month.

Where do I get the uniform from?

We supply the items that are specific to our group – the scarf and badges. See each section’s page for uniform requirements. These items are available from Scout Shops (nearest are in Guildford or Farnham), or click here to order from the online scout shop.

Where do I sew the badges?

Check out the uniform requirements on each section’s page for details of where each badge should go. Alternatively speak to one of the leaders during your next session.

How do you keep my child safe?

Check out our Privacy/Safety page for full details.

How can I keep in touch with my child's activities?

When you join, we will give you a login for our computer system – Online Scout Manager. Here you can view your section’s activity programme, keep your contact details up to date, and see which badges your child has earned. Please ask your leader for further details.
We would also be happy for you to join in – we’re always looking for section leaders and occasional adult helpers – contact us for more details
