Cubs is for 8-10½ year olds. Leaders guide the cubs through activities such as camping, adventure sports, and environmental projects – feeding their curiosity and developing independence and teamwork.
Our Cub pack meets on Wednesday evenings 5.45-7.15pm in the Jubilee Hut on Whitmore Vale Road.
Cubs wear a green cub sweatshirt and navy blue trousers, with dark shoes. In summer, for informal events, it is fine to wear a green Cubs T-shirt and navy shorts. (Hint: for young Cubs especially, it is worth getting as large a jumper as sensible – with luck it will last them their whole time at Cubs and will save you from having to transfer all the badges onto a new one half way through).
Jumpers, t-shirts, trousers, and shorts are available from Scout shops in Guildford or Farnham, or online here. We will provide their badges and black/red scarf. This diagram shows where to sew each of the badges.
For outdoor or special activities, your leader will advise the most appropriate clothing for the conditions. Finally, please don’t forget to ensure your child’s name is in every item of clothing!
Scouting is a worldwide movement that embraces participation from all age groups. Our adult helpers get just as much fun from contributing their skills and enthusiasm to the group – offering Grayshott’s young people unique opportunities, supporting the local community and meeting like-minded people. Plus, you might just learn something new yourself!
There are varied and exciting leadership and committee roles to suit all levels of involvement and experience. Contact us today to find out how to join in.
